Part of blogging is the attitude! I too feel that what I think is not important to others but I am working to change that feeling. Since my oldest students are 7 years old, I do not think that this would be helpful for my students but the flickr might. I think blogging and the web capture aspects will be a useful for me professionally if I can get this site unblocked in my district.

Now I am thinking about the possibilities!

I agree with what Kim says about this being about you and your reflection. As you engage in the conversation, you will learn more and more! Welcome aboard! We're glad to have you!

I also worry about who will care about what I have to say. Over time I've come to realize that, first of all, the blog is for me - to support my learning, help me make connections, and help me reflect; and second, that the people who are interested in what I have to say will find me. It's like magic! You can never imagine before you start that you will find anyone that interested in anything you have to say, but it happens. That's the magic of The Long Tail.

Bravo!-
Excellent start Karen. This is a really good start for your first blog entry! That sinking feeling you had when you realized you knew nothing about this area of technology is something that I feel all the time! that is what had spurred me on to use my blog and to blog for learning. If you hang with it, you and your teaching will change in amazing ways. Blogging has given me the hunger to learn. What a beautiful thing!
